Who developed the Dry Mouth Pump?

I'm Al Toman the creator of the dry mouth pump.  The dry mouth pump is being developed by the people at Lorin Technologies, llc under the engineering direction of John Miktuk.  I'd like to tell you the short version story of how the dry mouth pump came about.

Why was the Dry Mouth Pump developed?

I had acquired T4 squamous cell carcinoma in my right sinus.  It broke through my upper palate and attacked my upper right jaw.  I had my first surgery on February 7, 2007 by Dr. Carol Shores at the UNC medical center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  During radiation therapy I noticed a lump on the left side of my neck and advised the medical staff.  They stopped radiation therapy.  I had my second surgery on August 22, 2007 again by Dr. Carol Shores at UNC.  I had to be re-assessed for additional radiation therapy then progressed through radiation supplemented with chemo therapy.

I was told that the recovery of my salivary glands would be limited if at all.  I always thought that dry mouth would become an issue for me in my recovery from my battle with cancer.  Dry mouth is not only painful at times, it inhibits eating, speaking, and normal functions that most people don't even think about.  Therefore, dry mouth was constantly in the front of my mind.

There is nothing worse then waking up in with your mouth parts totally glued  to each other.  I would often get up during the night and sip water.

I limit my speaking because dry mouth adversely effects easy speech.  After a few sentences, again, my mouth parts would stick to each other.

I often work outside to maintain my stamina and strength.  However, works creates heavier breathing which in turn expedites dry mouth.  Yes, my mouth parts are quickly glued shut.

They tell you to take many sips of water but can you imagine trying to drink while sleeping, or sipping water and talking at the same time, or putting down your shovel or rake every time you need to address dry mouth?

How does the Dry Mouth Pump work?

The dry mouth pump is very easy to operate.  Once you receive your dry mouth pump, fill the vessel with the fluid of your choice, program the pump to do what you want it to do, place the mouth piece in your mouth where it fits best, then turn the pump on and select the day time button or the night time button.  You're all set.  It even comes with a boost button if you need an extra shot of fluid.

The dry mouth pump is small enough to be portable, worn on your belt or by a shoulder strap.  It comes with a recharging circuit to keep your battery up.  It can be plugged into the wall and set on the night stand for night time use.

I use the dry mouth pump myself and know that you can benefit from the dry mouth pump as well.
